Quick Note: UWF Tops AFCA Pre-Season Poll

The hunters have become the hunted in Pensacola. Your 2021 Argonauts have topped the AFCA Top 25 Pre-Season Poll for the first time ever.

This comes after UWF was picked by the GSC Coaches to win the conference at GSC Media Days earlier this month.

The complete AFCA Top 10 was as follows:

1. West Florida (26 Votes)

2. MSU, Mankato (2 votes)

3. Ferris State

4. NW Missouri State

5. Slippery Rock

6. tie Lenoir-Rhyne

7. tie Valdosta State

8. TAMU-Commerce

9. Notre Dame (Ohio)

10. Colorado School of Mines

As you can see, the Argos are slated to face two top 10 opponents this season in Valdosta State and TAMU-Commerce, but they’re 2021 schedule also features three conference opponents who received votes Delta State (31st), UWA (40th), and UWG (55th). Plus there are several other familiar faces from the Argos’ Region II on the list including t-6 Lenoir-Rhyne, and t-24 Carson Newman and Wingate.
